This page searches live eBay listings. Pick your eBay site, from eBay.com and eBay.co.uk to eBay.it, eBay.de and ten others, and the results come back from the eBay Browse API, so you are seeing listings that are open right now rather than a stale index. Prices show in the currency the seller actually listed in, and nothing is converted. Searching does not require an account, and it does not require you to connect an eBay login.

You can narrow results by price range in the currency of the site you picked, by listing type (Buy It Now or auction), by condition, by seller feedback, and by where the item ships from if you want to keep results inside your own country or the EU. Results can be sorted by best match, by price including shipping in either direction, by ending soonest, or by newly listed. There is also an image search: upload a photo and it looks for visually similar listings, which helps when you do not know what a thing is called.

Each set of results is scored. Every listing is compared against the other comparable listings in the same result set, and one that is priced twenty percent or more below the average is flagged as a hot deal, while ten to twenty percent below is flagged as a good price. Scoring needs at least five comparable listings before it will say anything, and it stays quiet rather than guessing when it has fewer. One thing worth being clear about: those comparisons use the asking prices of active listings, not sold prices. Nobody outside eBay has a general feed of what things actually sold for, so this tells you how a listing is priced against its competition, which is a different question from what the item is worth.

Listings are labelled with how recently they appeared. Anything posted in the last fifteen minutes is marked new, and everything else shows its age in minutes, hours or days. On eBay, being early is often the whole difference between a find and a missed one.

Once a search is worth keeping, save it. Saved searches are re-run every hour and you get an email when something new matches, with browser push notifications available as well if you turn them on. You can also star individual listings onto a watchlist, and the price of a watched item is recorded every six hours from the day you add it, so you can see whether it is drifting down or holding. That history starts when you start watching. There is no way for anyone to show you what a listing did before that.
